Signs of life

I got no words. I've been overly busy with work and whatever this last little while. Luckily, I've been able to expand since my last post. No words... just a ton of pictures. Enjoy!

Ok, I got a couple words about that last guy. He's my Termy Captain, Brother Captain Furia. I followed the theme of making the HQ's name play's on words referring to anger or rage. He will rip your face off.

An actual post...

I've been waaaaaay too busy this month. I'll barely get my vows for ToMG done again, and it's way less than last month. I'm not too sure I'll be able to keep the pace, but I'll try my hardest.

In the meantime, here's some of the side projects I've been working on to make the hours painting more bearable.

This guy here is the first of a squad of Striking Scorpions. It's taken forever for me to find a scheme I like, but I like this. So, I'm going to roll with it and hopefully have them all painted.

This dashing gentleman is the champion of my Wood Elf Eternal Guard. I just used more of the washes to great effect. I need to touch him up a little, but he's done for the most part. Afterward, just the 10 rank and file Eternal Guard to go!

This is a Farseer along with a bodyguard unit of 4 Warlocks. I literally just sat down and cranked these all out in two days. Shining Gold Rune Armor contrasts the Royal/Enchanted Blue robes, while the Witchblades 'ardcoat covering gives the weapons a real sense of ethereal power.

I've got alot to paint, although I'm not too sure how much time I got to do it. Next time I should have something Angrier to show you. Next month I'll have to take it easy and do a Spess Mahrine Commander. For now, enjoy!

What a day...

It's been forever since I posted anything. No pictures tonight, but work on my Angry Termies is under way. Instead, I'm going to talk about a game I had tonight. I got to see how Eldar is truly meant to play.

We had a large table to play on, with two 2000 point Space Marine armies against two 2000 point Eldar armies. The entire game was long and painful, but I worked together extremely well with my partner, as Eldar should. We both used our units to create several decoy units which forced the opponent to waste many shots. Also, three drop pod landings within one turnpoured a large number of Marines within inchs of our objective, which were promptly devastated by Dark Reapers. The key thing here however was I learned how to use the biggest dick in the Eldar codex, as well as gained respect for Warlocks and Farseers. I'm happy with the list's I have, but I know know how to do a couple things diffrent if I need.

Next time I post, I promise I'll have pictures. ;)

The sneaky sneak peek is sneaky.

The reason for that is because I intentionally used the lights in my room to make this picture filled with glare! Your going to have to wait until Thursday to see it in detail. =P

Damn. I haven't posted in nearly a month. I fail at painting blogs. =P

Moar Eldaaaaagh!

I've been really busy painting this week. I suppose it's just a sign of things to come, but hey! It keeps me busy, and I'm actually getting the army painted. That said, I've spent as much time stripping paint off old models as I have actually painting. I have around 8 or so Warlocks, 2 Farseers, an Autarch, all my Dark Reapers and a few others in there right now soaking, and hopefully soon I'll be ready to give them the paint job they deserve.

Anyways, I got off topic there! This week, I painted up 3 of the 10 or so Jetbikes I have. I've been meaning to do these guys up for a loooong time, around last summer I think, kinda like the Vypers. I picked these ones up and said "Why not?" They were already primed and had terrible looking blue and red paint on them. I more or less intended to go in there and clean them up. What I actually did was give them all amazing looking paint jobs. Using my new technique for gems, I made some very shiny gems. They actully shine in low light, giving them a very Eldar look. Otherwise, this is actually really simple! Lots of Blood Red for details, such as the Rider's eyes and pouches, with Mythril Silver for their grills (that's faceplate for those not as gangster as me.) The racing stripes were something I randomly came up with after looking at my Rangers. I painted them all on by hand using Blood Red first, a slight overlap of Codex Grey, and another overlap of Fortress Grey! I'm very pleased with the results.

The Wave Serpent... yet another project I half did and tossed to the wayside. Maybe it's not a bad thing that I can't afford new models right now, seeing as I can finish what I got already! It's still a work in progress right now, but I figure I could give out a sneak peek. I fully painted the cockpit and pilot as I put it together, so that was luckily already done. Most of what I did was just redo the red in the grooves of the hull. It's extremely time consuming, seeing as you have to carefully apply the paint, or you wind up having to go back and paint the edges black where the paint overflowed or whatever. It's hard to desribe, but a pain in the ass. Trust me.

Otherwise, it was more of the same with the gems. I like this picture, the light was angled just right to make the gems show how shiny they are. They look like they have a sort of depth to them, and it's gratifying to see them look so good.

Walls and I are going to go halfers on the AoBR boxset sometime soon, which means I'll be starting to paint marines soon! I dislike painting yellow, but I'll deal with it. I still havn't even figured out my points yet. Or made a list to build up to. I really need to get on that I think. If I do it right, my Marines will almost look orky. that puts a smile on my face! Anyways, that's all I got for now. I post more when I paint more!

~Til next time!

DECISION

Yup. I've decided I'm going to do the Angry Marines for my Tales of Four Gamers event the club is holding. For those unfamiliar...

http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Angry_Marines

Be forewarned, there is so much anger and sheer awesome your mind may combust. Be sure to look at the .pdf of the Codex: ANGRY MARINES in there too. I'll wind up using it once in awhile.

Less than a week until I start painting them. Goody.
