It's been forever since I posted anything. No pictures tonight, but work on my Angry Termies is under way. Instead, I'm going to talk about a game I had tonight. I got to see how Eldar is truly meant to play.
We had a large table to play on, with two 2000 point Space Marine armies against two 2000 point Eldar armies. The entire game was long and painful, but I worked together extremely well with my partner, as Eldar should. We both used our units to create several decoy units which forced the opponent to waste many shots. Also, three drop pod landings within one turnpoured a large number of Marines within inchs of our objective, which were promptly devastated by Dark Reapers. The key thing here however was I learned how to use the biggest dick in the Eldar codex, as well as gained respect for Warlocks and Farseers. I'm happy with the list's I have, but I know know how to do a couple things diffrent if I need.
Next time I post, I promise I'll have pictures. ;)

The biggest difference, as an outside viewer to the game, was that the marines did not act in concert. They very well could have overwhelmed your lines with brute force and numbers. Instead they had half their units deepstriking, whole units sitting in vehicles or in buildings doing very little. They were the least aggressive marines ever.
ReplyDeleteI probably would have piled my entire army into a flank and just done a wave against you guys. They way underestimated how tough their troops were and despaired way too much about psychic powers. They had a vindicator and a whirlwind and 2 bigscary devastator squads, 2 land raiders, a predator... they had alot of armor you guys might not have liked dealing with that hid behind buildings.
I knew right after the first turn the Eldar were winning! Good job.
I agree. The marines acted like two separate armies, while we moved as one. If those devastators had come out to play instead of hiding in that big building, I think it would have been very different.
